The Swit S-8U62 High Capacity Battery has been specifically designed for use with the Sony PMW-EX1 and the PMX-EX3.
The battery fits into the EX1/EX3 body but is powered by a lead with pole jack connection which fits into the power DC connection on the rear of the camera. The lead is attached to the battery and neatly folds into a recess at the top of the battery.
Due to the unique way in which the Swit S-8U62 battery powers the PMW-EX series through the DC input, the camera does not drain the battery when in the off position unlike the Sony BP-U series batteries.
The S-8U62 is a larger capacity battery than the Sony BP-U60, Swit have developed the battery with 63wh where as the BP-U60 is only 56wh.
Not only does the battery feature a longer life but it also has a D-Tap power connector in the side of the battery which allows you to power the Swit S-2000 video light directly from the battery.
The battery also features a LED indication on the top of the battery showing you the remaining life of the battery, this can be activated by a simple push button.
The Swit battery can also be charged on the Sony BC-U1 charger which allows it to intergrate with the existing system.
